Buffalo Bills pass-rusher Von Miller has been suspended four games without pay for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, the league announced Tuesday.
Miller will be eligible for reinstatement on October 28 after the Bills' Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The suspension stems from allegations Miller assaulted his pregnant girlfriend last year. Miller turned himself in on an arrest warrant for a charge of third-degree felony assault on Nov. 30.
Miller has said the allegations are false and "overblown."
According to a police affidavit regarding the alleged assault on Nov. 29, Miller twice put his hands on the neck of the woman, pulled out a chunk of her hair and threw her onto a couch. The woman was treated for minor injuries, including bruising on her neck, officers wrote.
Miller said back in July that no charges were ever officially filed and believed the case to be closed. The NFL had been conducting a separate investigation.
