Few childhood stars had it easy. Take Demi Lovato who rose to fame on the Disney channel when she was 15 years old. The Camp Rock star has been candid about difficulties she's faced, from frequent bullying to substance abuse and struggles with mental health.
Now Lovato is giving other celebrities a space to open up about their childhood Hollywood experiences in the Hulu documentary Child Star. In the new film, Lovato sits down with celebrities who started in the industry at a young age, like Raven-Symoné, who was first in front of the camera at only 16 months old. Child Star is currently available to stream on Hulu as of today, Tuesday, September 17.
Child Star, which marks Lovato's directorial debut, features interviews from Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Cristina Ricci, Raven-Symoné, JoJo Siwa, Alyson Stoner and more. You'll hear jaw-dropping truths about these imperfect childhoods, including Barrymore sharing that she was first offered substances at age 10 and Thompson's struggle when an accountant ran away with his earnings.

Child Star streams exclusively on Hulu — sort of. Hulu subscribers who also have a Disney+ subscription or purchased the Hulu and Disney+ bundle can watch Child Star on Disney+ with the Hulu on Disney+ feature.
A stand-alone Hulu subscription starts at $8 per month. Right now, eligible customers can score a free 30-day trial when they sign up for Hulu.
